First Day of School!

Rebekah is a JUNIOR this year.  Seriously- how did that happen?  Didn't she just start 6th grade?
She is excited not to have chemistry and Algebra 2 this year- instead she has Computer Programming and AP Biology.  She also has AP US History, Honors English and French 3.  Add that to marching band and working 2-3 nights a week, and you get one very busy 16 year old.  So far so good, though.  She's an awesome young woman- it is so fun to see what she is doing with her life!

Price is a 9th grader this year.  He is totally a cute kid- fun, super smart and helpful.  Eliza LOVES him right now- and he never misses an opportunity to take her from me and play.

Price and Josh have exactly the same schedule first semester this year- not sure how that happened, since in 7th grade they had 1 semester of PE together the whole year!  They are taking Honors Geography, Honors Biology and Honors English, Math (whatever it's called with the new system), P.E., symphonic band, German and Seminary.

Josh just keeps getting taller!  He's up to 6'2" now, and I don't think he's done.  Eliza loves him, too- he is always smiling at her and saying, "Hi, gorgeous!"  Who wouldn't like a big brother like that?  Josh is just a good kid.  That's what people are always telling me about both of them- "They are such good kids".  And he still has an awesome sense of humor. :)

Just had to give Price a chance to be taller for a second...

Ethan is a 6th grader this year.  His teacher is Mrs. Allen- I get the feeling she is going to be very good for him, which is great, since he has to start jr. high next year!  I'm not sure how I feel about that- but I guess my first three have survived it, so hopefully Ethan will, too.  I do kind of wish that the twins would still be around for his first year, but I can't do anything about that!
Ethan always has some topic of focus- right now it's weapons and military planes.  Not my favorite topic, so I do lots of smiling and nodding (and a little eye rolling).  He is dancing ballroom again this year, and also signed up for an after school Italian class.  Next on his list is fencing.

Emma is in 4th grade this year, with Mr. Johnson.  She is smart, organized and dependable.  She is an amazing babysitter- and just comes and takes Eliza from me whenever she's home, and she's just like a second mom!  Emma is starting ballroom this year, and is attending a morning reading class with her teacher from last year, where she reads fun books aloud to the kids.

Annie is in 2nd grade with Mrs. West this year!
She is an awesome reader.  She has a little more trouble with the writing part (especially spelling), but we're working with her on that, and she is making progress.  I'm not sure where she got her social skills, but they are amazing- she always has a friend to play with, even if she doesn't know anyone!
Both Annie and Emma decided not to play soccer this year (yep, I'm not minding those free Saturdays at all!), but she is playing volleyball in an after school class.  She is still in speech with Mrs. Robinson, too, and is doing really well there.

Doesn't this look like a cute, happy walk to the bus stop?  Yeah- in reality, it is more like a constant fight to see who gets to push the stroller, who gets to push the garage door controller to shut the door, and who is walking too close to someone else.  Oh brother.
But it does get me out the door for my morning walk at the same time every morning, and that counts for something.

Our awesome bus stop group.  We have a great neighborhood!
