Friday evening, we dropped Rebekah off at the corner cafe to meet her longtime friend Rebecca, and headed to the campground. When we got there, we found out that they only accepted cash. Yippee. Luckily, the campground was not far from town, so we backtracked and found the ATM, before realizing that neither of us had a working debit card. We found Rebekah having dinner at the cafe, borrowed her debit card (thank goodness for kids with jobs!), and finally withdrew enough cash for the campground! What a pain.
We had a fun time camping. We brought two tents, so the teenagers slept in one, Tim, Eliza and I slept in the other, and the other three slept in the Suburban. They did not like it much. Next time we'll definitely have to bring another tent!
Bighorn sheep in Sheep Creek Canyon!
It was beautiful weather- not too cool, but cool enough that it felt so good after PG in August!
We did have one adventure in the middle of the night: we woke to tearing and scratching sounds. Tim got out of the tent, thinking it was a raccoon. Lucky for him it wasn't a bear, but it was a skunk! We accidentally left some granola bars out in a box on the table. Tim decided he really didn't care about the granola bars, carefully backed away and went back to bed, and all was well.
The next morning, we packed up, stopped at the park bathroom in Manila to comb hair, brush teeth and wash faces, and then we stopped by the Northcotts for a fun visit. They are the family I always look at to see what we'll be doing in a few years... and since they have 2 married, (with 2 grandkids), one on a mission and one in college, not to mention the 3 still in school, that is kind of overwhelming. We have a lot of stuff coming up fast!
Do we have to get back in the car AGAIN?
We stopped in Evanston on our way back- got out to play at this playground.
Finally home- and worn out!
Obviously, someone got a finger on the lens at some point...
Fun trip! We need to go back soon.
