Yep, it's true- Annie turned 8 years old! We started with a family party...
(sorry for all the photos- but the kids love to look back and see what their presents were and who gave them... makes for long, boring blog posts, I know!)
We had lots going on that night- we invited Mom and Dad, who couldn't be there until a little after 6, and the older kids had to go play at a football game at 6:15, so this was a blitz present opening/happy birthday singing.
The ponies were "from Eliza"- since Annie wanted to know if Eliza had gotten a present for her. :)
New Sunday clothes- dress from Grandma and Grandpa, and shoes from Mom and Dad.
Annie's request: yellow cake with chocolate frosting, and Cookies and Cream ice cream! You can see the half empty table, since the big kids were gone already!
The next day, we had her friend party. She decided on a Halloween party, which turned out to be a really cute, easy party to do in October! The kids even got to break out their Halloween costumes early! Also, after several years of bugging me about not having Halloween decorations up in the house, Annie got her wish: we put up decorations for her birthday, and they'll stay until Halloween!
Instead of cake, Annie chose Whoopie pies with Halloween sprinkles around the edges.
This was a super cute bunch of girls.
Usually, as soon as the 8th birthday is over, we're getting ready for a baptism. This time, though, we have a
little extra time: Tim realized a couple of weeks ago that the day her baptism was scheduled for was in the middle of the band trip to Disneyland! Not sure how I missed that for as long as I did! We rescheduled, so Annie will be baptized on December 1st.
