Colorado

Memorial Day weekend, we decided to drive to Denver for our nephew's wedding.  The pictures I took of the trip were way random- for example, nothing of the wedding.  At all.  So I guess you get what you get.  We left Thursday afternoon and drove to Glenwood Springs- stayed overnight there, and then the rest of the way to Denver on Friday.  We met up with Tim's parents Friday morning, and kind of caravaned down.  These pictures were at a rest stop on I-70 somewhere.

Oops.  I forgot to rotate this one.  Just turn your head sideways, will you?

With my handsome twins, who have grown since this pictures.  No, really.  Just for the record, I am 5'10".

During the sealing, we left the kids at a park near the temple- I'm sure the local residents really appreciated that, since I'm sure it happens all the time.  We went to the reception that night, and then came back to the hotel for swimming!

I think we pretty much scared everyone else out of the pool.  For the record, that hotel (it was a Wyndham Suite Marriot, I think) had the best breakfast ever.  And when you're travelling with teenagers, that's a big deal!

Saturday, we drove up through Denver, stopping at City Park for a few hours.  This park is where the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Science are located.  We didn't go to either of them.  Instead, we had a picnic, played on the playgrounds, and walked.  This picture is of a cool island that was created for nesting birds- those are cormorants.  I didn't even know cormorants lived in Colorado.

Ethan was in heaven.

Uh... Tim could tell you what kind of cannon this is.  But I can't.

I think they're getting a little tall for that.

Chasing geese!
After the park, we drove up to Fort Collins and Katy's house!  It's always fun to see cousins (especially when they have puppies), and the kids had a great time together.  We went to their ward's sacrament meeting the next morning, and then left for home.  That is a LONG drive.  Ugh.  And I have to do it again this summer.
