Eliza's Blessing

We blessed Eliza Jolayne on Nov. 6th-
it was a wonderful day!
Eliza wore a beautiful, long white dress that her Grandma Steele made, and we wrapped her in a gorgeous blanket made by her Aunt Sandy.

Here she is with her Dad, who blessed her.
I was grateful for the chance to hear Tim bless our baby- he is so good at expressing what the Spirit is telling him, and his blessings are always beautiful.  Eliza's was no exception- in the blessing, Tim talked about naming her for faithful ancestors (Eliza for Eliza Buckwalter, her great-grandmother, and Jolayne for her grandmother), and blessed her to make and keep eternal covenants, saying that she will influence many generations.  Tim is such a great blessing in my life and in the lives of our children!

After church, we invited everyone over for dinner:  We had all four Grandmas and Grandpas (Grandma Shipley was at the blessing but not the dinner), Matt, Jenni, Abby and Tommy, Peter, Mary and Grafton, and Ben and Claire.  Uncle Kevin and Brandt came to the blessing, but their family was sick and they decided to skip the dinner.  Grandpa Steele's brother, my Uncle Dick, was also there for the blessing.

This is what Eliza did while we ate:

This was going to be a really cute picture of Matt holding Tommy- and then Tommy attacked!

Cousins- Grafton is 8 weeks older than Eliza.

This was such a nice day- although sitting and talking to 3 brothers made me wish for my 3 sisters, too!  I'm glad we have family close enough to share special events with us.
