Visitors!

For the first time since last summer, we had overnight visitors! Amy, Eric and their four kids were here for a few days, and Merle and Rob came with four more this weekend. It was great to see everyone, the kids had a wonderful time playing with cousins, and I found out that I like other people's babies again! That sounded bad, didn't it? It's true, though- I had so many babies so close together for so long that I really had no desire to hold/play with/admire any that weren't mine. It's nice to know that I'm getting past that stage. I really will like being a grandma someday!

Look at those cute kids!

The real reason Amy's family came out was so she could attend the awards ceremony/opening reception of the Church International Art Show, in which her artwork was being exhibited. We got to be among the first to see all of the amazing paintings/quilts/sculptures/fiber art etc. that was chosen for the show. Go here to see all of the art:

or visit the exhibit from now through October at the LDS Conference Center in Salt Lake.

You really have to see it in person for the full effect- it is amazing!

It was a great week- although now that all the "extra" people are gone it seems pretty quiet here! Is it possible that 6 kids can seem quiet? Well, maybe for a few hours, anyway.
